Responsibilities
The purpose of this job is to plan and design, and/or facilitate the execution of new building designs, building expansions or remodels to meet established scope, design standards and general professional standards
The Architect 2 role will lead architectural project design through all phases and work alongside the project team to successfully complete assigned projects
Fully competent architect in all conventional aspects of architecture
Ability to lead and delegate architectural design work to a team of 3-6 CAD designers
Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects of moderate size and complexity
Performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies, and limited design layouts
Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data
Writes reports and specifications
Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations
Works closely with the CAD Designer / Project Manager to execute project plans
Coordinates with CAD Designer / Project Manager to directly supervise the teams’ design and technical delivery
Directly reviews and coordinates between consultant drawings and architectural drawings
Directly coordinates with construction team to execute solutions to site/field issues
Architect of Record for projects performed by the Design Team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Architecture (NAAB accredited school preferred) or Masters of Architecture (NAAB accredited school preferred)
Completed Architectural Licensure by Architect Registration Examination (ARE) in at least one state
Minimum six or more years of professional experience and certification as a licensed professional
Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe suite of products
Working knowledge in Architectural design and detailing skills
Working knowledge in Consultant and Vendor Coordination to aid in preparation of Construction Documents
Working knowledge of Building and Fire Codes, as well as Federal Laws to include ADA requirements (this includes all codes applicable to building design)
Working knowledge of Construction Documents, AIA Contracts, Specifications and procedures to required to complete these documents
Working knowledge of building systems, including Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Communication and Fire Alarm and Monitoring systems. This knowledge is understood to be limited to working knowledge for the purpose of coordination of a complete building design
Working knowledge and ability to apply and implement design standards provided under the guidance or regulations of others including the Corporate Architect and other Brand Architects
Basic Microsoft 365 skills
Basic understanding and interest in retail design and technology
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and see them to completion
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including telephone skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines
Possess the ability to lead effectively
Strong organizational and follow-through skills
