OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH SPECIALIST
USAJOBS is seeking candidates for the position of Occupational Safety and Health Specialist under the Air Force Personnel Center. The primary purpose of this position is to obtain experience and training under the Palace Acquire Program, which leads to career development in the field of Occupational Safety.

Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of operations and facilities where the type of hazard anticipated is low in nature and is predictable in advance
Conduct safety training, develop class schedules, maintain necessary records/data, maintain classroom equipment, facility, etc., under supervision of qualified personnel
Conduct portions of investigations of mishaps, and prepares and presents findings
Participate in established Air Force Occupational Safety Programs to Include Hazard Abatement, Confined Space, Ergonomics, etc
Conduct special assignments in keeping with the formal training plan
Qualification
Required
You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
You must have completed a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution
You must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in one of the following: a) Class Standing - upper third of the graduating class based on completed courses in the college, b) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0, c) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society
U.S. Citizenship Required
Males must be registered for Selective Service
A security clearance may be required
You will be required to serve a one-year probationary period
Preferred
A degree in Safety or Occupational Health fields (Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, industrial psychology, and organizational psychology
