MCCO Research and Development Engineer

Responsibilities

Conduct software and systems engineering research to support the development of new cyberspace capabilities
Identify and analyze potential vulnerabilities in software, hardware, and firmware components
Perform threat modeling and risk assessments to uncover potential attack vectors and vulnerabilities
Evaluate the security posture of cyberspace systems, including network protocols, operating systems, and applications
Research and analyze emerging trends and technologies in cyberspace such as AI, ML, and IoT
Leverage cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testing frameworks, and SIEM systems
Collaborate with MARFORCYBER teams to translate research findings into actionable recommendations and solutions
Drive innovation in cyberspace capabilities by developing prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions

Required

Top Secret/SCI clearance level must currently possess
Top Secret/SCI clearance level must be able to obtain
8+ years of related experience
US Citizenship Required
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred); additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
8+ years of experience in research and development, systems engineering, or cybersecurity fields
Experience in vulnerability analysis of software, hardware, and firmware
Knowledge of threat modeling methodologies and risk assessment frameworks
Proficiency with cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testing frameworks, and SIEM systems
Familiarity with operating systems, network protocols, and application-level security
Understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, ML, and IoT
TS/SCI (or eligible)

Preferred

Experience conducting advanced research projects in a government or defense setting
Knowledge of MARFORCYBER and USCYBERCOM missions
Familiarity with advanced modeling, simulation, and prototyping tools
