They are seeking a Writer/Editor to draft communications for the Department of Medicine, ensuring clarity and adherence to branding guidelines while also engaging with faculty and staff to highlight their work.

Responsibilities

Writing and/or editing messages from the chair's office to faculty, staff, and trainees
Draft letters for the Department of Medicine Chair
Work with requesting parties to ensure understanding of project needs and gather a sense of the target audience
Interview faculty, staff and trainees to feature their work and share their experiences
Place Social Media posts about the department on LinkedIn and X to increase the national standing
Ensure the messaging is accurate, clear, and fits within branding guidelines
Attend meetings
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position

Qualification

CopywritingMicrosoft OfficeInterpersonal skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field
36 months experience in writing, editing, and print or digital publications
Excellent written and verbal skills
Proficient in copy writing, editing, proofreading and composition
Knowledge of the different media sites or sources
Ability to be organized and meet deadlines in a timely manner
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Interpersonal skills
