RF/EM/Antenna Simulation Application Engineer
Nullspace, Inc. is redefining electromagnetic simulation by solving RF and quantum design challenges. As an Application Engineer, you will support the technical evaluation and application of EM simulation software, assist customers with onboarding, and collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create technical content.
Responsibilities
Support the technical evaluation and application of Nullspace EM simulation software for prospective and existing customers
Collaborate with senior engineers and the sales team to understand customer requirements and demonstrate how Nullspace tools can address their RF and EM design challenges
Assist in onboarding new users, providing training and guidance to help them get started with the software
Contribute to the creation of technical content for marketing and customer education — including case studies, webinars, presentations, and tutorials
Help deliver training sessions to customers across industries such as defense, aerospace, communications, and automotive
Provide first-line technical support to customers, working closely with the product and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and share feedback
Participate in technical discovery, product demonstrations, and evaluations during the sales process
Collaborate with the product development team by sharing customer insights and helping test new features, develop example projects, and contribute to user documentation
Represent Nullspace at industry trade shows and conferences, engaging with attendees, supporting demos, and gathering customer feedback
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or permanent resident)
M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Ph.D. is a plus but not required
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English
Solid understanding of electromagnetic theory and simulation principles
Familiarity with RF systems such as 5G, phased arrays, digital beamforming, microwave components, radar, and communications
Practical experience with Python and MATLAB for engineering workflows
Comfortable working directly with customers, including technical discussions, onboarding, and ongoing support
Ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and with management
1-5 years of hands-on experience using CST, HFSS, or similar EM simulation tools
Preferred
Exposure to antenna design concepts and basic understanding of EMC/EMI considerations
Familiarity with computational electromagnetic methods and how they apply to real-world RF problems
Experience designing and simulating sub-6 GHz antenna arrays for base station applications or other infrastructure applications
Involvement in full RF product development — from concept and simulation to measurement and integration
Experience performing radar cross section (RCS) simulations, including monostatic and bistatic analysis for complex platforms
