Responsibilities

Advise on data security incidents

Navigate related regulatory investigations

Ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations concerning cybersecurity

Work closely with regional and national clients as a member of the Privacy and Cybersecurity Group’s Data Protection and Cybersecurity Team

Required

5+ years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law

Experience advising on privacy and security obligations

Experience with state, federal, and international data security incident notification requirements

Experience defending regulatory investigations related to data privacy and security

Experience in law firm or in-house privacy and cybersecurity breach response, or data breach litigation

Exceptional project management skills

Strong awareness of data privacy and security laws

Effective written and oral communication abilities

Ability to manage a fast-paced, complex workload while maintaining priorities

Ability to anticipate potential issues

Motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations

Ability to interact effectively with technically-skilled individuals

Ability to distill key issues for non-technical business team members

Professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in a collaborative team environment

Excellent academic credentials

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Admission to the state bar of the state in which the associate resides

JD from an ABA accredited law school

Located within reasonable proximity to one of the listed offices (Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Irvine, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Diego, or San Francisco)
