Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Work with Product Leaders to develop and execute an AI technical strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and vision, and help further define that vision. Identify emerging trends and technologies to keep the company at the forefront of AI advancements
Team Management: Mentor a team of Data Science, Machine Learning, and ML Ops Engineers. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to drive team success
Team Performance: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for AI projects. Ensure that AI solutions deliver measurable business value and meet the expectations of high-performing teams
Model Performance: Establish metrics and benchmarks for model performance. Monitor and analyze model outputs, making necessary adjustments to improve accuracy and product effectiveness
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with executive leaders, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver end to end AI products and services. Provide technical expertise and guidance on AI-related projects
Research and Innovation: Stay current with the latest developments in AI research and methodologies. Encourage and support the exploration of new techniques and technologies to enhance the company’s AI capabilities, and strengthen the company’s competitive advantage
Data Strategy and Governance: Ensure the use of high-quality, reliable data to train AI models. Implement AI data governance best practices to maintain the integrity, privacy, and data security
Compliance and Ethics: Ensure that AI model development adheres to industry standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Promote responsible AI practices within the organization
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate AI strategy, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, including the executive team, board of directors, and investors
Qualification
Required
Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Engineering or a related field
10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years of applied AI and machine learning and experience leading a team
Proven track record of successfully developing and deploying AI models in production environments (edge and cloud preferred)
Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, data preprocessing, model evaluation, and deployment
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java
Experience with AI frameworks, concepts and tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, LoRA, LLM's, VLM's, and CLIP
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive high-performing teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions
Experience in developing and executing strategic plans that meet business needs
