The Housekeeper performs a variety of housekeeping and custodial duties in assigned locations, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for guests. Responsibilities include cleaning guest rooms, common areas, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of housekeeping and custodial duties in assigned locations
Cleans guest room bathrooms, including toilets, floor showers and tubs; wash basins, mirrors and walls
Cleans kitchen areas, including refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, and washing dishes
Cleans common areas, including public toilets, sweeping, mopping, buffing and vacuuming
Empties large trash cans from public areas and takes trash to the dumpster containers
Performs quarterly deep cleans, including shampooing carpets and changing encasements
Takes inventory of furnishings daily and reports maintenance discrepancies
Inspects assigned guest rooms before releasing check out rooms
Reports all missing, damaged or destroyed property immediately to supervisor
Moves heavy items of furniture and supplies/equipment as required
Provides excellent customer service and communicates positively with guests
Adheres to safety regulations and standards, using required safety equipment
Reports any observed workplace hazards and workplace incidents to supervisor

Required

Must be able to work independently
Must have knowledge concerning all aspects of rooms assigned, including but not limited to: Inventory and restocking supplies and amenities
Must be knowledgeable and adept in proper cleaning techniques of various types of furniture and furnishings
Must be able to use common cleaning tools, cleaning agents and industrial type vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners and buffers
Must be able to identify and call in for repair all maintenance problems
Alert management when problems concerning guest treatment occurs
Makes independent decisions regarding property and supplies in rooms such as damaged furniture, carpets, damaged linen and supplies
Initial on the job training is provided with a continuous ongoing training program
Must be able to read signs, follow written and oral instructions
Must be knowledgeable in fire, safety and security requirements
Must have a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles to be transported from one work place to another
Responsible for inspecting assigned guest rooms before releasing check out rooms
Responsible for reporting all missing, damaged or destroyed property immediately to supervisor
Turns in all lost property found on premises to supervisor
Adheres to safety regulations and standards
Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures
Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment
