Responsibilities

Serves as the primary point of contact between students, faculty, and customers for Ivy Tech’s Automotive Educational Program
Managing service orders of community partner organization
Coordinating community partner organization vehicle service
Maintaining accurate records
Fostering a professional shop environment that reflects real-world industry practices
Ensures that program operations simulate dealership and independent shop standards

Required

A high school diploma or GED is typically the minimum requirement with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the automotive industry
Prior experience in automotive maintenance, customer service, or as a technician can be helpful
Commitment to Ivy Tech's mission of student success and workforce development
Ability to model professionalism and industry standards for students
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Collaborative team members with faculty, staff, students, and community partners
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Proficiency in automotive service software, repair order systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of automotive systems, repair processes, and industry terminology

Preferred

ASE Certification(s) in Service Consultant, Automotive Parts or related areas
Previous experience in an educational or training environment
Demonstrated ability to mentor and support students in a learning setting
Familiarity with dealership and independent shop operations
Possess an associate's degree in automotive technology being beneficial and preferred
