InternElix is a women-led wellness startup focused on empowering women through Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). They are seeking a TikTok & Social Content Intern to create engaging social media content that promotes wellness education and resonates with their audience.

Responsibilities
Create and ideate daily TikTok and Reels concepts that feel fresh, relatable, and on-trend
Identify emerging trends, sounds, and formats to help Elix stay ahead of the curve
Collaborate with our founder and doctors to translate TCM wisdom into modern, engaging content
Film and appear on camera or coach others on delivery and tone – you thrive with a phone camera!
Write content briefs and help guide creative storytelling behind the scenes
Hook writing expertise - craft scroll-stopping hooks in the first 3 seconds
Edit and post content using tools like CapCut or native TikTok editing
Track video performance and earn bonuses for viral content
Competitive analysis and research including: Weekly competitor content audits, document successful formats from adjacent industries, maintain a swipe file of high-performing wellness content
Qualification
Required
Obsessed with TikTok, Reels, and short-form storytelling
You have 'main character energy' and aren't afraid to be on camera
Your FYP is your research lab - you study it for hours daily
You've gone viral at least once (intentionally, not accidentally)
You speak in TikTok references that your millennial boss won't understand
You can explain why one video gets 3M views while another flops
You're tracking 10+ trending audios at any given moment
You can spot a trend 48 hours before brands catch on
Passionate about wellness, women's health, and herbal medicine - bonus if your FYP already shows you TCM and wellness content
Creative, curious, and proactive - always brimming with ideas
Experienced with video editing tools (CapCut, InShot, or similar)
Self-motivated with strong communication and collaboration skills
NYC-based or able to visit our office 2–3x/month preferred
Preferred
Experience with TikTok Shop features
Understanding of TCM terminology and can make it Gen Z-friendly
Have successfully grown a personal or brand account from 0-10K
Experience with TikTok Live or going live on social
Can turn serious health topics into shareable content without being cringe
Already create wellness content and get DMs asking 'what supplements do you take?'
Have theater/improv background and can embody different 'characters' (anxious girlie, PCOS warrior, etc.)
Study TCM/acupuncture and can explain why your tongue reveals everything
Have gone viral for a wellness hot take or hormone balance tip
Can make educational content that doesn't feel like homework
