Staff Attorney - Workers' Compensation
NJM Insurance Group is seeking a Staff Attorney to provide legal defense to policyholders and support the Workers Compensation Claims Department. The role involves protecting the interests of NJM policyholders in litigated workers’ compensation matters and collaborating with various stakeholders in the defense of these claims.

Responsibilities
Protect the interests of NJM policyholders in litigated workers’ compensation matters through the point of settlement or decision
Work with staff in the preparation of pleadings, motions, briefs, and other documents
Provide case status updates, recommendations, and legal guidance to policyholders and Workers’ Compensation Claims staff
Work collaboratively with other enterprise stakeholders in the defense of Workers’ Compensation claims
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Critical thinking skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Strong negotiation, communication and writing skills
Ability to problem-solve and make decisions
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to customer service
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
Juris Doctor degree
License to practice law in the state of New Jersey
Preferred
Trial or arbitration experience
Judicial clerkship experience
Workers' Compensation experience, including multiple jurisdictions
0-3 years of experience
