Senior Process Engineer - CMC

Responsibilities

Process Development: Lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for CMC components, from concept to production, with a focus on autoclave operations and lean methodologies
Technical Expertise: Develop specialized knowledge in CMC processes and materials, staying updated on the latest technical developments and industry best practices
Strategic Contribution: Contribute to strategy and policy development within the CMC Lean Lab, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivery of high-quality results
Problem Solving: Use technical expertise and data analysis to solve moderately complex tasks or problems in operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Apply new perspectives to existing solutions
Collaboration: Work across functions, leveraging multiple internal and limited external sources to make informed decisions and drive process improvements
Leadership and Mentorship: Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, providing guidance and support. Lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements
Communication and Influence: Explain complex or sensitive information clearly, working to build consensus and develop persuasion skills to influence others on topics within the field
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes meet the requirements of highly regulated industries, maintaining compliance with applicable standards and certifications

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Process, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

Preferred

Experience in Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) is highly preferred
Candidates with experience in other highly regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, medical devices, automotive, or energy) will also be considered
Commitment to continuous improvement and a willingness to learn new techniques and technologies
Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong knowledge of process engineering principles and controls
Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools
Experience with autoclave operations and related manufacturing processes
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results
Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing team members
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
