Responsibilities

Assist with preparation of estate planning and business succession documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related agreements
Support attorneys with estate and trust administration, including probate filings, asset collection, and beneficiary distributions
Draft and file court submissions such as petitions, inventories, and accountings
Assist with trust funding, asset transfers, and coordination with financial institutions, accountants, and investment advisors
Maintain and reconcile estate and trust financial records, including bank statements and transaction logs
Track key deadlines, filing dates, and compliance requirements across multiple active matters
In consultation with attorneys, review and interpret wills and trust agreements to track and implement the plan during the estate and trust administration process
Coordinate with beneficiaries, trustees, and financial institutions
Conduct basic legal and factual research to support attorney work
Maintain corporate records, entity filings, and ownership documents related to closely held businesses
Support attorneys in drafting correspondence and transaction documentation for commercial and tax-related matters
Organize and maintain client files, closing binders, and electronic records consistent with firm protocols
Ensure all communications and materials adhere to strict confidentiality and professional standards

Required

Three to five years of experience as a paralegal preferred. This practice is specialized, and training will be largely on the job
Basic bookkeeping skills
Strong organizational and practice management skills
Ability to manage and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
