The Associate will manage and invest client portfolios across asset classes, primarily focusing on the Private Capital component, while supporting senior staff in investment functions and business development activities.

Responsibilities
Proactively assist senior staff with the investment function: sourcing managers, direct co-investments, executing due diligence processes on new investments, developing and maintaining models and spreadsheets, and assisting with general portfolio management responsibilities
Assist in managing existing investments and generating analysis on client portfolios
Conduct specialized research on industry trends and specific investment strategies
Create/update models to help track various internal data including – investment pipelines, client returns, client cash flows, and risk information
Attend annual meetings and conferences and develop a network of outside investment professionals to help the Cerity Partners team with due diligence and industry intelligence
Support business development activities of the Firm
Assume ownership of various ad-hoc projects
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate or Graduate business degree with a strong academic track record
1-3 years of work experience in financial services; asset management experience a plus
Understanding of capital markets, investment theory and practice, and the investment management industry
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Positive outlook, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
Comfortable with global business travel
Preferred
CFA designation, or progress towards CFA credentials, is strongly preferred
