Director, Public Relations and Communications
Saint Peter's University is one of 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States, offering a unique learning experience. The Director of Public Relations will support media placements, manage press materials, and ensure strategic communications across various departments.

Responsibilities
Build and maintain press lists and cultivate relationships with both local and, where applicable, national media
Draft press materials including announcements, University news, employee profiles, interviews, etc
Edit and proofread University materials in partnership with the team
Field media requests and direct to the appropriate department as needed, working with the University General Counsel to review
Track and analyze University press coverage and provide monthly reports
Stay connected to trends, industry happenings and the competitive marketplace, and sh
Liaise with all departments, including within the Office of Communications and Marketing, to ensure all communications are on-brand, strategic and consistent
Partner with other University departments on relevant news stories for internal and/or external communications
Collaborate with the agency partner and Advancement team on the University magazine including project management, writing and editing
Develop and send weekly email to the University community highlighting events and updates; must be written to capture multiple audiences' attention across students, faculty and staff
Activate crisis communications plan in partnership with the AVP of Communications & Marketing and key stakeholders as needed

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
Higher education and branding/marketing experience are welcome
2-4 years of relevant experience in communications
Superior written, verbal, and editing skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with email distribution systems such as Constant Contact
Ability to work both independently and as a teammate
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
