Senior Project Manager, Ports / Marines

Responsibilities
Manages one or more complex projects involving a full spectrum of engineering services offered by AECOM
Provides project and technical task management for one or more simultaneous projects
Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations
Develops and implements project management methodologies and best practices across the team
Conducts risk assessments and develops mitigation strategies for complex marine engineering projects
Client Relationships: Ability to assist in developing new client relationships and to strengthen existing client relationships. Ability to identify, understand and focus on clients' key requirements
Team leadership: good team leadership skills. Self-starter, energetic, pro-active
Manage engineering design as the supervisor
Review designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings
Collects and analyzes data
Use computer software as a tool for solving basic and complex engineering problems
Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of various engineering disciplines in port and marine projects
Oversees the preparation and submission of regulatory permits and environmental impact assessments for marine projects
Mentors and develops junior project managers and team members to enhance overall team capabilities
Participates in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations for new marine engineering opportunities
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Maritime Engineering with 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Professional Engineer License with the ability to attain reciprocity in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, or Pennsylvania within 6 months of hire
Due to the projects associated with the position a US Citizenship is required
Preferred
Project Management experience in marine terminal related infrastructure
Previous experience in leading projects meeting required quality, timeliness, and budget parameters
Experience with computer aided design (AutoCAD)
Good presentation and communication skills in English
Good report and proposal writing skills
Experience with ArcGIS
Previous experience in maintaining client relationships
Experienced in planning, design, and construction management
Previous experience with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) planning and design
