The Program Assistant for Homeless Services is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of a low barrier shelter, providing administrative duties, client support, and fostering a safe environment for homeless individuals.

Responsibilities

Responsible for promoting a safe, supportive and quality living environment to a population of homeless adults
Will work in partnership with the team by engaging with the shelter guests and drop-in center participants and assisting them in carrying out activities of daily living as well as responsible for providing direct supervision of guests, participants and visitors
Will monitor to ensure that the facility provides a safe, welcoming and clean environment
In order to enhance the shelter guests’ level of independence and socialization, will ensure that shelter rooms and common areas are clean and maintained on a regular basis
Offer compassionate and non-judgmental support to shelter guests

Associate degree with 1-year job-related experience or High School Graduate with 2 years of job-related experience working with persons experiencing homelessness or behavioral health needs
