Responsibilities

Identify, expand, and cultivate relationships with prospective and existing donors

Successfully close gifts and continue the development of the relationship with the University

Direct and collaborate fundraising efforts for the Office of the Provost in assigned areas

Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive and strategic fundraising program

Proactively identify new partnerships to engage and generate philanthropic support

Manage fundraising board

Develop, plan, and implement strategies to secure gift funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations

Direct all fundraising activities and initiate the development of donor cultivation, proposals, and solicitations of gifts and grants

Responsible for stewardship and oversight of gifts and grants related to advancement within the assigned college/unit

Ensure the awarding of scholarship funds established by charitable donations

Travel to meet with and personally solicit previous and potential donors

Attend meetings, gatherings, and College/University sponsored events

Document contact and prospect moves, tracking progress using Raiser's Edge/FPM

Organize, promote, and maintain collaborative working relationships with key faculty, leadership, staff, and volunteers

Collaborate with development professionals across academic disciplines and industries

Collaborate with other University Advancement team members to significantly increase gifts to FIU

Draft, design, and prepare proposals needed for the solicitation of prospective donors

Draft, design, and prepare personalized materials needed for the recognition and stewardship of donors

Plan, oversee, and manage donor stewardship activities in collaboration with Donor Relations & Stewardship

Manage all events for stewardship and solicitation as needed

Demonstrate professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits

Represent the University and/or the college at public functions as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields; OR twelve (12) years of experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

A demonstrated career track record in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing five and six-figure gifts

A minimum of five years of successful fundraising experience
