Controls Engineer, Powertrain (Night Shift)
Tesla is seeking a night shift Controls Engineer for the Powertrain Maintenance Engineering team to maintain and improve automated equipment across the Powertrain production lines. The role involves troubleshooting, analyzing data for equipment improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure equipment is validated before returning to production.

Responsibilities
Maintain Key Performance Indicators of safety, equipment availability, spares cost and OEE
Analyze data to drive equipment improvements to reduce downtime while maintaining quality of the product
Respond of daily escalations of equipment downtime and perform effective troubleshooting to minimize Production impact
Submit Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA) to improve equipment efficiencies
Perform RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Actions) using 4D methodologies to resolve and prevent equipment failures
Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure equipment is properly validated before returning to production
Improve EMS (Equipment Maintenance Procedures) to ensure proper documentation is available
Qualification
Required
Degree in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
Experience programing, debugging and troubleshooting PLC systems (Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, Siemens)
3+ years of experience as a hands-on Controls Engineer or Applications Engineer working on automation and/or electromechanical systems
Preferred
Experience programming, debugging and troubleshooting Cartesian, SCARA and Articulated robots is highly desired (Fanuc, Kuka)
Experience with Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Fanuc)
Experience creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment is highly desired
Knowledge of production quality metrics is a plus
Proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as with SolidWorks and CATIA is a plus
