Senior Test Engineer - Power Electronics
TÜV Rheinland North America is one of the world’s leading testing, inspection, and certification service providers. The Senior Test Engineer will evaluate, design, develop, and create test programs for power electronics products, while also supporting the development of laboratory capabilities and ensuring compliance with various standards.

Responsibilities
Conduct customer product evaluations and certifications for power electronics including but not limited to inverters, ESS, EVSE and related components, frequency converters- motor drives, generators, etc. to US, Canadian and European standards
Support development of laboratory capabilities and expansion of the scope of accreditations
Identify, qualify, and present solutions based on customer business and technical requirements
Coordinate and guide clients on test events, procedures, and requirements
Evaluate the conformance of products to performance standards
Review, plan and conduct complete on-site evaluations
Develop competency to become a technical lead
Generate, edit, and revise test reports and documentation. Maintain client confidentiality
Work with sales to expand client base by supporting marketing leads and offering other TUV Rheinland services to client base
Work with marketing to expand testing and inspection services
Liaise with other global laboratories to ensure consistency and accuracy of methods and interpretations
Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of electrical, power electronics, or renewable engineering
Familiar with inverters, ESS and EVSE standards like UL 2202, UL 2594, IEC 61851-x, UL 1973, UL 9540, UL 1741, CSA C22.2 #107.1, IEEE 1547, IEC 62109-x, etc
National codes concepts, principles, and practices for North America and Europe
Ability to travel to client/prospect, industry events, training, others as required
Valid driver's license and a valid passport required
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent education and/or experience
Regulatory Testing training
5 years of test experience evaluating products in accordance with regulatory standards
Experience using automated test tools
