Responsibilities
Prepare preliminary design plans, documents, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers
Conduct analyses and perform standard computations, drawings, and visual aids for projects
May coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or other staff
Collaborate with the design team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Conduct field inspections to gather relevant data and contribute to site assessments
Utilize design software and tools for drafting and modeling
Support the development of cost estimates for projects
Perform quality control self-checks of assigned work
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited civil engineering program
Passed FE/EI exam
5+ years of relevant roadway design engineering experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Strong understanding of design principles and standards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work individually or as part of a team
