Responsibilities
Evaluates routing and submits necessary applications for necessary operating rights, overflight permits, and landing permits
Coordinates with approved vendors to obtain necessary clearances as required
Ensures international clearances required to operate scheduled and charter operations are obtained in a timely manner
Prepares a complete “trip package” for use by flight following in managing scheduled and charter operations
Confirms proposed routing and scheduled times for operational correctness
Considers the impact of current events and global political issues on current operations
May be required to cover Operations Assistant Duties
Additional Duties as required by the Manager of International Flight Clearance
Qualification
Required
High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable
Good working knowledge of world geography, air cargo, and aircraft ground operations
Exceptional attention to detail and abstract problem solving capabilities
Experience in a flight dispatch center helpful
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to convert between different units of measure
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
Prepared to work all shifts; including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred
FAA Dispatcher's license desirable, but not required
