The role involves creating detailed technical drawings using CAD software and delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Create detailed trenching plans by compiling design data from utility layouts, trench profiles, road crossings, unit layouts, and equipment placement

Ensure plans meet The Villages’ specifications and standards

Develop joint trench configurations to be used by all participating wire utility companies, ensuring compliance with The Villages’ joint trench detail requirements

Design HFC (Hybrid Fiber‐Coaxial) and FTTX (Fiber‐to‐the‐X) systems for local telecom providers

Management of fiber and coax routing, equipment placement, network layout, and preparation of splice matrixes and bills of materials

Create and maintain accurate fiber network maps and splice documentation for The Villages’ internal use, reflecting both current layouts and updates from field changes

Review and approve contractor invoices, verifying field completion

Apply as‐built revisions to internal records and update joint trench and utility drawings accordingly

Act as a liaison with telecom companies and field contractors to produce specialized deliverables, such as equipment inventories, project activation paperwork, and turnover documentation
