Courier Capital is looking for a Summer Associate for their Governance Risk & Compliance Program, aimed at developing future financial services professionals. The role provides hands-on experience in compliance, risk management, and governance processes within a community banking environment.

Responsibilities

A compliance summer associate assists in monitoring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, supports audit preparation and documentation, and helps implement procedures that promote ethical conduct and operational integrity

An enterprise risk summer associate supports the identification, assessment, and monitoring of financial, operational, and regulatory risks by assisting with data analysis, third-party risk reviews, and reporting to strengthen internal controls

A BSA/AML summer associates assists in monitoring financial transactions for suspicious activity, supports the preparation of reports such as SARs and CTRs, and helps ensure adherence to anti-money laundering regulations and internal controls

A fraud summer associate assists in detecting and investigating suspicious transactions, supports the implementation of fraud prevention strategies, and helps maintain accurate records to safeguard customer assets and uphold regulatory compliance

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Law or a related field

Candidates must be available to work a hybrid work model, 40 hours per week for the duration of the program starting in June

Occasional travel within corporate footprint (Buffalo and Rochester) will also be required

At least 1 year in one or more club(s), volunteerism efforts, or other activities outside of the classroom

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Interest in governance, risk management, compliance, or regulatory affairs

Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and attention to detail

Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
