Optical Thin Film Design Intern - Summer 2026
Corning Incorporated is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramic, and materials science. They are seeking a Summer engineering intern to support the manufacturing and engineering of high-precision optical systems in their Advanced Optics division.

Responsibilities
Support the manufacturing and engineering of world-class, high-precision optical systems in Corning's Advanced Optics division
Work with Corning Keene’s coating design team to design and develop thin film deposition processes on assigned projects
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a degree in a STEM field, including optics, material science, chemistry and physics
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
Good written and oral communication skills
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
Be willing to work at the posted job location
Preferred
Familiarity with optics and/or thin film coating technologies and metrology preferred
