Homologation Engineer

The Homologation Engineer will provide technical leadership and support vehicle compliance and validation initiatives while ensuring adherence to local market requirements and regulations.

Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to other team members
Support Component Owner with local US technical requirements for all specific local market differences
Support vehicle homologation with the National Highway Traffic Safety (NHTSA), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Buy America, Altoona Test, CARB, and others
Lead the delivery of State vehicle code compliance and State autonomous vehicle permit requirements
Support testing and validation initiatives to local US vehicle tests such as FTA Altoona Durability test, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other required local homologation tests
Support team during vehicle deployments in multiple locations
Qualification
Required
Ability to evaluate product concepts and propose solutions
Knowledge of automotive vehicle engineering and assembly
Understanding of automotive regulations, especially State Vehicle Code, FMVSS and EPA/CARB
Self-motivator who can work independently without supervision
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English
Travel up to 20%
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
Experience in Product Development Engineering in the automotive industry, including Electric Vehicles, Bus and Autonomous Vehicles and Homologation
Experience with SAV Shared Autonomous Vehicles
