VP Finance/Controller - South of Boston
CFS is a $40M multi-location nonprofit that has experienced 60% growth in the past 4 years. The VP Finance/Controller will oversee the day-to-day financial management, including accounting, analysis, and reporting, while providing strategic insight and financial support to the CEO and Senior Management Team.
Responsibilities
Hands-on responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day financial management of the company including the preparation of the monthly financial package; management of GL accounts, annual audit and submission of government and related tax returns; and financial planning
Oversee and lead annual budget planning process in conjunction with the CEO; prepare the annual budget; monitor progress and changes, and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status
Oversee/monitor the budget and cash flow; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the agency’s financial status
Manage organizational cash flow and provide financial forecasting, for administration, existing programs, and proposed new sites/programs
Oversee a robust contracts management system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements
Provide financial and operational metrics and analytics to executive management
Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies
Increase the company’s ability to anticipate business issues and drive good decision-making through sound financial management
Further develop guidelines and processes corresponding to the rapid growth of the company
Continually review accounting policies and procedures to ensure that the company is compliant with GAAP and statutory accounting
Supervise and support 2 full-time finance staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or a master's degree in accounting
10+ years of total experience with 3+ years of management experience
Hands-on management experience will be required with journal entries, closing books, reconciling accounts, periodic reporting, presenting financial statements to senior managers and board members
Preferred
CPA preferred but not required
Nonprofit or related health care experience is strongly preferred
