Managing Director, Financial Communications & Investor Relations - Houston

Responsibilities
Help serve as a trusted strategic advisor to clients on financial communications, investor relations, and capital markets issues, including M&A, IPOs, earnings, shareholder activism, crisis situations, and ongoing investor engagement
Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing client teams to deliver outstanding service and results
Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources and other advisors, along with C-suite executives, board members, investors, and financial media
Develop and execute integrated communications and investor relations strategies that enhance corporate reputation and support business objectives
Provide counsel on disclosure, financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and best practices for engagement with the investment community
Oversee the preparation of earnings announcements, investor presentations, annual reports, press releases, and other key financial communications materials
Design and implement media strategies, engaging directly with key media contacts to support client objectives
Help drive business growth through identifying new opportunities, supporting pitches, and expanding existing client relationships
Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and investor sentiment to provide informed advice to clients
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and in the media as a thought leader
Oversee and mentor mid- and junior-level team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
Provide real-time feedback and guidance to ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality work
Support the professional development of colleagues by setting clear goals and helping them achieve career milestones
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in financial communications, investor relations, investment banking, or the legal profession, with proven leadership and advisory experience
Deep understanding of capital markets, financial reporting, and regulatory environments
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial information for diverse audiences
Proven experience advising executives and managing complex client relationships
Strong network within the financial and legal community, including investors, analysts, and media
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and deliver results under pressure
Entrepreneurial mindset with a developing track record of business development and client growth
Bachelor's degree in finance, communications, business, or a related field
Preferred
MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
