The Director Technical Design will lead the technical design team and process for all divisions, managing a team to ensure high-quality, production-ready garments are brought to market.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design team, including six direct reports, through the creation and execution of products across all divisions

Position will manage team as well as being responsible for their own categories/styles

Manage and oversee the creation of technical packages for each style, including measurement specs, construction details, and callouts and keeping them up to date as changes occur throughout the season to help ensure high-quality, production-ready garments

Manage and oversee the fitting of all garments ensuring that the team is taking clear, detailed notes and measurements

Oversee all stages of fit comments, including communication with overseas vendors

Ensure the team is working with the designers on technical details for each style throughout the development and production process

Work with the team to manage overall workload with regards to construction, fit, approvals, timelines, etc

Enter and maintain style information including measurement data in Full Circle

Ensure garments align with design intent and fit standards

Needs to be an expert in fitting and patterns to make accurate fit changes / comments to overseas vendor

Required

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Technical Design and Pattern Making skills required

Must have excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills, with great attention to detail

Must excel at measuring garments and provide accurate comments and measurements

Requires fluent knowledge and understanding of a garment spec sheet and POM's

Must be a self-starter with a solution-based approach

Ability to interpret design sketches and translate them into clear technical specifications

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines

Must be able to work proficiently in PLM, CLO (or equivalent software) Google/Google Drive/Gmail, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Illustrator. Full Circle experience is a plus
