Water Resources Project Manager

Responsibilities
Work with a multi-disciplinary team on landmark projects
Supervising a design team
Overseeing the work of designers, drafters, and subconsultants
Preparation of preliminary design and final design drainage studies
Detention basin design
Riverine hydraulic modeling
Stream restoration
Sediment transport modeling
Floodplain mapping studies
FEMA compliance (including LOMCs)
Drainage Master Plan preparation
Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
Direct supervision of water resources design staff including personnel management, reviews, training, and QC review
Establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients/public-agency personnel and in-house staff
Preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work
Management of multiple coincident contracts
Ongoing management of project schedules, budgets, and billing/collections
Respond to RFP’s/SOQ’s
Prepare and deliver presentations
Participate in interviews for Public Works Projects
Qualification
Required
BSCE degree
California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in water resources engineering
Minimum of two (2) years project management experience including supervising a design team, overseeing the work of designers, drafters, and subconsultants
Proficiency with preparation of preliminary design and final design drainage studies
Proficiency with detention basin design
Proficiency with riverine hydraulic modeling
Proficiency with stream restoration
Proficiency with sediment transport modeling
Proficiency with floodplain mapping studies
Proficiency with FEMA compliance (including LOMCs)
Proficiency with Drainage Master Plan preparation
Proven proficiency with LID design principals
Proficiency with HMP Compliance
Proficiency with Water Quality modeling
Proficiency with BMP design
Proficiency with Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) programs
Proficiency with complying with regulatory requirements of the RWQCB and the SWRCB
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong independent thought and decision-making abilities
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
Direct supervision of water resources design staff including personnel management, reviews, training, and QC review
Proven record of establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients/public-agency personnel and in-house staff
Experience with preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work
Demonstrated experience with management of multiple coincident contracts
Ongoing management of project schedules, budgets, and billing/collections
Significant successful experience in client and public agency interactions
Ability to respond to RFP's/SOQ's
Ability to prepare and deliver presentations
Ability to participate in interviews for Public Works Projects
Preferred
Recent professional experience specific to Central Coast California
Central Coast Post Construction Requirements (PCR's)
MS in Civil Engineering or a related field
Programming skills
One or more of the following certifications: Certified Flood Plain Manager (CFM), LEED, ENV-SP, Project Management Professional (PMP), CPESC, QSD, QSP
