The Purchasing Intern role provides hands-on experience in procurement, supplier management, and supply chain operations, allowing the intern to support the purchasing team and lead a critical project aimed at improving processes or supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

Purchasing Support

Assist with purchase order creation, tracking, and follow-up with suppliers

Support analysis of supplier quotes, delivery schedules, and cost trends

Help ensure accurate purchasing documentation, including contracts, supplier information, and inventory records

Supplier & Vendor Relations

Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery timelines, and resolve issues

Participate in supplier performance evaluations and reporting

Assist with supplier onboarding, audits, or qualification activities

Data & Reporting

Help analyze purchasing data and prepare reports for leadership

Monitor metrics related to cost, delivery, and quality performance

Contribute to dashboards and presentations summarizing purchasing performance

Continuous Improvement & Projects

Lead at least one project focused on improving a purchasing or supply chain process (e.g., cost reduction, supplier scorecarding, inventory control, or system enhancement)

Identify opportunities for process efficiency and share recommendations with the team

Support cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and finance to resolve material and sourcing challenges

Required

Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail

Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new tools and concepts

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Preferred

Experience with business systems (e.g., ERP/CRM/CPQ) or analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) is a plus
