The Legal Assistant will provide essential administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling civil defense litigation matters in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and format legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and correspondence

Manage and organize physical and electronic case files

Handle scheduling, including depositions, hearings, and meetings

Monitor and maintain attorney calendars and court deadlines

Assist with the preparation and tracking of subpoenas, medical records, and other case-related documentation

Communicate professionally with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed

Perform legal research support and gather case-related information under attorney supervision

Assist with time entry and billing

Provide general administrative support, including document filing, scanning, and copying

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification

Legal assistant experienceCivil litigation knowledgeCourt procedures familiarityMicrosoft Office SuiteMulti-tasking abilityCommunication skillsOrganizational skills

Required

3+ years of legal assistant experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation, preferably in Kentucky state courts

Familiarity with court procedures, e-filing, and legal terminology

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional legal training or certification is a plus
