Responsibilities
Greets guests immediately with friendly/sincere acknowledgement throughout the hotel
Understand and follow company and brand standards
Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure the efficient operation of all systems and equipment in the hotel
Must conduct regular inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate repairs as needed
Manage a team of maintenance technicians and ensure they are properly trained, motivated, and equipped to carry out their duties
Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure the highest level of productivity and professionalism
Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in the hotel
Ensure elevators, fire safety systems, generators, water heaters, and other essential equipment are always operating
Develop and manage the maintenance department’s budget, including equipment purchases, repairs, and maintenance contracts
Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality and safety standards
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental policies
Conduct regular safety inspections, maintain accurate records, and address any issues promptly to minimize risks and liability
Plan and oversee major renovation or construction projects within the hotel
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure tasks are completed on a timely manner while adhering to budgetary constraints
Foster effective communication and collaboration with other hotel departments to address maintenance needs, coordinate repairs, and minimize disruptions to guests
Provide technical guidance and support to other departments as needed
Ensure that all cleaning equipment & supplies are used and stored properly
Qualification
Required
Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to tolerate environmental factors such as humidity, cold/heat, dust and noise
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required
Strong organizational and project management abilities
Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes
Physically able to work from ladders, move furniture, operate cleaning equipment, and tolerate exposure to general cleaning chemicals
Several years of experience in a supervisory role within the hotel or hospitality industry required
Strong knowledge of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC required
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software(s) as required by hotel
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
Preferred
