Postdoctoral Associate- Neurophysiology/Transcriptomics
Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated research scientist for a postdoctoral associate position in the NIH-funded laboratory of Dr. Hsiao-Tuan Chao. The role involves conducting advanced research in basic and translational neuroscience and genetics, focusing on neural circuit development and function in various neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders.

Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments
Evaluates and analyzes data
Establishes new research protocols and procedures
Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals
Maintains laboratory operations
Supervises research staff
Qualification
Required
MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field
No experience required
Preferred
Strong foundation and publication record in neuroscience, genetics, neurophysiology, transcriptomics, or developmental biology
Candidate needs to have one of the three following areas of expertise: (1) electrophysiology and neural circuit analysis, (2) transcriptomics and sequencing approaches, or (3) developmental neurobiology
Prior experience in hiPSC models or genetic model organisms (mouse or fruit fly), and neuroscience research preferred
