Great Lakes Cheese is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join their IT Infrastructure team. This role offers hands-on exposure to IT infrastructure elements, including data center operations and basic networking, while contributing to maintaining and improving their infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring and maintaining data center operations
Learn and support the setup and configuration of IT infrastructure components
Gain exposure to environmental systems such as:
UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)
Backup Generators
Cooling Systems
Support basic network troubleshooting and documentation
Help with inventory management of infrastructure hardware
Participate in routine checks and reporting on infrastructure health
Shadow senior team members during infrastructure upgrades or maintenance
Document processes and contribute to knowledge base articles

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related field
Basic understanding of IT hardware and networking concepts
Strong interest in infrastructure and data center technologies
Good communication and organizational skills
Willingness to learn and take initiative
Year in school: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship both now and in the future

Preferred

Familiarity with cabling and rack setup
Exposure to network diagrams or infrastructure documentation
Basic knowledge of power systems and cooling mechanisms
