HII's Mission Technologies division is seeking an unpaid SkillBridge intern for a Project Manager role. The intern will train on project and program management principles, work closely with a mentor, and gain real-world experience in managing program operations and understanding industry functions.

Responsibilities

Train as a Project Manager within HII Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated Mission Technologies Program Manager

Learn project and program management principles, technologies, and core operational functions

Achieve a cross-organizational understanding of how industry works

Be assigned special projects as needed

Describe core functions of program management, have a basic knowledge of software technologies, government contracting procedures, managing program operations to ensure production schedules are met, system resources are utilized efficiently and effectively, and proper relationships are established between customers

Gain a functional understanding of schedule, performance, and risk identification / mitigation on initiatives including but not limited to systems, tools, equipment, software, facilities and other activities

Be oriented to profit and loss of a large complex program

Be trained on all phases of programs from inception through completion

Support a program contained at one primary geographic location however covering remote locations and multiple business functions and employees directly assigned to program

Be trained on processes to track cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs
