Start in 2026 SummerWestinghouse Electric Co is seeking an Operational Excellence intern for the summer of 2026. The intern will work with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, analyze data, and implement solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities
Help identify and execute Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects
Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Support value stream mapping, process flow analysis, and root cause investigations
Participate in Gemba walks and collaborate with shop floor personnel to understand challenges and propose solutions
Help develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and visual management tools
Contribute to the implementation of 5S and other workplace organization initiatives
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Completed Sophomore year of college
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
Experience in a machine shop or fabrication facility
