Responsibilities

Support daily operations and long-term maintenance of ENGIE’s BESS, solar, and wind assets across various sites
Perform hands-on technical work on power conversion systems (inverters), BESS units, DC electrical systems, solar arrays, and medium-voltage transformers
Respond to unplanned maintenance needs and support preventive and predictive maintenance tasks across multiple sites
Assist with system commissioning and troubleshoot equipment both onsite and remotely
Enforce compliance with all safety protocols, including Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Conduct routine site inspections using specialized tools such as hot sticks, arc-flash suits, voltage detectors, and oil sampling kits
Generate accurate documentation for all work performed, including daily logs, maintenance reports, and equipment updates
Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors and vendors to ensure high-quality, timely, and safe execution of work
Support the implementation of upgrades, technology enhancements, and other site improvement initiatives in collaboration with engineering teams
Assist in training team members and contractors on equipment operation and safety practices
Utilize digital systems and software for managing work orders, procurement, and inventory tracking
Support electrical maintenance, testing, and repair of low, medium, and high voltage systems during emergencies and planned outages in substation environments

Required

A minimum of a two (2) year technical diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Controls (or equivalent military, trade school experience); Original Equipment Manufactures 'OEM' training plus five (5) or more years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
At least two (2) years of hands-on experience in solar generation, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), wind generation, utility-scale power plants, or substation maintenance
Experience with equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and routine operations in renewable energy environments
Strong understanding of electrical theory, power systems, and medium-voltage (up to 34.5 kV) equipment operations. Higher voltage experience strongly desired (up to 345KV)
Ability to safely perform switching operations and isolate MV transformers and breakers
Knowledge and experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures; switching and tagging experience is highly valued
Capability to troubleshoot and maintain OEM control systems and interface with SCADA and plant control systems
Willingness and ability to obtain a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) certification within 12 months of hire
Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record; ability to drive to site locations
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Preferred

Familiarity with major OEM systems such as Sungrow, Tesla, CATL, Power Electronics, Rizen, or BYD
Electrical testing knowledge of substation and collection system components
Transmission and Distribution electrical system experience
