Quality Assistant Team Leader

Responsibilities

Ability to interpret data and track data so as to communicate results to relevant parties in an appropriately timely manner
Report deviations/opportunities in process parameters and assist with action planning and correction and taking such changes as deemed appropriate
Coordinate with appropriate departments to establish audit frequencies within process
Review various programs within master auditing schedule
Coordinate with quality assurance manager to develop monitoring and evaluation programs necessary to process and process deviations/opportunities
Perform environmental testing and establish a frequency based on historical data
Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables
Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct
Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
Implement quality control measures required for the production processes
Task Sheets will be provided separately for each different task

Required

Associates degree preferred/or a minimum of three years practical experience in lab environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrable experience with laboratory techniques for the measurement of chemical components, microbiological parameters, and sensory attributes
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Practical experience in QA techniques, principles, and adherence to government regulations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
