Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of boilers and pressure vessels to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Witness pressure tests as mandated by jurisdictional authorities
Inspect field or shop locations in accordance with ASME or National Board Code standards
Document and report inspection results, including nonconforming conditions, as per jurisdictional and company protocols
Perform Loss Control inspections and other types of inspections as assigned, adhering to specified codes and standards
Support engineering evaluations and provide solutions for non-compliant situations in collaboration with supervisors and customers
Qualification
Required
National Board or Jurisdictional Commission required
Relevant ASME/National Board Code Endorsements
Education in one or more of the following: High School, accredited apprenticeship (e.g., boilermaker, steamfitter), Power Engineering certification, military/merchant marine training, Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), API-510 or API-570 certification, or technical training in inspection
Minimum one year of experience in pressure equipment industry (e.g., engineering review, manufacturing, operation, maintenance, inspection, or NDE examination)
Preferred
Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, or Mathematics
