Environmental Intern
CalPortland is seeking a summer intern for the Environmental Group. This internship is ideal for a student interested in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Compliance, and Permitting/Sustainability.

Responsibilities
Assist with Cement Plant environmental compliance as needed. This may include preparation of reports required by environmental permits to state, local, or federal agencies, compliance inspections, etc
The position will involve learning about mining, cement manufacturing processes, process and environmental monitoring equipment, environmental regulations, inspections, working with contractors, etc
Interface with company lobbyists, management, and legislative staff
Perform plant tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
Excellent communication
Timeliness
Clean driving record
Ability to work well in a team environment
Preferred
Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry
