Research Technician III - Pediatrics - Oncology AICT
Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician III at the Center for Advanced Innate Cell Therapy within the Texas Children’s Cancer Center. The role involves developing novel forms of cancer immunotherapy through various laboratory techniques including cell culture, molecular cloning, and flow cytometry.

Responsibilities
Performs expansion of primary lymphocytes in culture
Performs lentivirus and retrovirus production
Performs retroviral and lentiviral transduction of cultured cells
Performs immunofluorescent staining and runs flow cytometry analysis
Analyses flow cytometry data using FlowJo software
Performs T and/or NKT cell culture and measures their antitumor activity
Measures cytokine production using ELISA or Luminex assays
Isolates RNA and DNA from samples and processes samples for single cell RNA sequencing
Performs molecular cloning and PCR
Performs cell therapy experiments in mice
Measures BLI in mice
Processes peripheral blood, isolates mononuclear cells and specific cell subsets
Keeps laboratory records and mice inventory
Organizes lab space and keeps track of lab reagents and materials
Documents results of experiments and prepares reports
Generates reports summarizing experimental results
Performs other job related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement
One year of relevant experience
Prior hands-on experience with cell culture, DNA/RNA processing, molecular cloning, gene transduction, flow cytometry, and handling mice
Preferred
Master's degree in basic science or a related field
Three years of relevant experience that may include relevant laboratory work while in college
