Responsibilities
Participate in the daily operations of the accounting department
Month-end and year-end process activities
Accounts payable/receivable
General ledger entries and reconciliation
Payroll accounting and review
Expenditure variance analysis
Capital assets reconciliations
Sales tax remittances
Balance sheet reconciliations
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
Enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles and proper control procedures/documentation as required for SOX compliance
Participate in the completion of the annual audits
Maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting/finance, or equivalent work experience
5 years' experience in accounting tasks and related functions
Strong Accounting knowledge
Advanced investigative and problem-solving abilities
Conscientious about quality and timeliness of deliverables
Must be able to take initiative. Doing things to improve the department without being asked
Must be adaptable, flexible and willing to change as needed
Highly organized with advanced multi-tasking, analytical, and follow-up skills
Ability to deal with high stress situations when needed
Customer service oriented
Team player
Dependable and consistent
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Quick learner, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced and changing work environment
Attention to detail and accuracy of work
Professional and effective written and oral communication and presentation skills with internal and external stakeholders
High level of integrity and trustworthiness due to the sensitivity and confidentiality of information and data
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook e-mail
Preferred
Spanish language proficiency is a nice-to-have
Experience with EBS Oracle systems is an asset
