They are seeking a Legal Intern for their Ethics & Compliance Team to support research on tariffs and trade activities while providing real-world applications of academic studies to help interns transition from school to work.

Responsibilities

Research and identify current tariff application for countries with whom Southwire imports goods

Research and identify the applicability of isolated, product/material specific tariffs for goods Southwire imports

Build a reference guide, easily updated, as a searchable spreadsheet with the aforementioned tariff rates, including the application (stacking, etc.) of tariffs as well as applicable duty (materials will be provided to support)

Assist in conducting cost-benefit analyses of potential supply chain initiatives

Identify opportunities to drive product and service innovation, challenges to supply chain adjustment including working directly with buyers to identify best sources of goods

Support internal and external communication efforts move Southwire toward reduced tariff and trade impacts

Identify forced labor challenges and routes to further Southwire efforts to avoid conflicting areas, ensure our supply chain is free from even potential forced labor, ensuring compliance
