Responsibilities

Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives
Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply
Receives work assignments with general instructions
Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies
Interact with subordinate supervisors, outside customers and functional peer groups at management levels - interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc
Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, and checking work at frequent intervals
A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit
Encompasses the direction and inspection of the performance of individuals or a team of associates who put together components to make assemblies, subassemblies, or completed units, or make or process raw materials into finished products in an industrial environment

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with an associate degree or high school diploma and 15+ years of direct experience in optical manufacturing will also be considered
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
Read, analyze and interpret general business documents
Ability to write reports and business correspondence
Ability to effectively present information to groups
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
Outstanding organizational and time management skills

Preferred

0-3 years in prior supervisory experience
Certified in Yellow Belt or Green Belt
Experience in leading or contributing to DMAIC or LEAN processes or projects
