Responsibilities

Root cause analysis and problem solving
Equipment condition assessment (vibration, oil analysis, etc.)
Equipment specification development and review
Troubleshooting of electrical systems and programmable logic controllers
Management of station breaker monitoring program
Review and issuing Digging, Drilling or Cutting Permits
Overseeing and interacting with contractors and consultants
Perform capital project review
Performing generator and equipment inspections
Performing other duties as assigned

Required

2+ years of relevant engineering experience
Knowledge and application of engineering theories, principles, concepts, and fundamentals
Must have a valid driver's license
Knowledge of business/financial and contractual matters
Developmental experience in a professional engineering position
Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures
Understanding and application of configuration management
Planning, organizational, and project management skills
Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills
Knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer software to assist in preparation of reports, presentations, database development and data review
Knowledge of plant electrical distribution equipment, generator equipment, relay and motor control systems, battery and uninterruptible power systems, SF6 breakers, and frequency converter
Must be able to analyze problems and provide solutions (demonstrated results)
Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices
Must be able to work safely in a plant environment including confined spaces, around water, at elevated heights, and in underground tunnels
5+ years of relevant engineering experience
Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles
Skilled in advanced techniques and modification of theories, precepts, and practices
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead
Strong personal computer skills
In-depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs
Strong written and oral communication skills (includes technical writing)
Must be able to analyze complex problems and provide solutions (demonstrated results)
Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering (engineering technology degrees are not acceptable for this position)
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved
Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET
Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET

Preferred

Electrical Engineering
We prefer (but do not require) candidates to have a current valid Professional Engineer license and the ability to obtain the PE license by reciprocity in Virginia and other states where Dominion Energy operates
