Precision Connectivity Technician
Corning Incorporated is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramic, and materials science. They are seeking a Precision Connectivity Technician to support new product and process development activities, build high precision optical connectors, and collaborate with development engineers to deliver connectivity solutions for manufacturing.
Manufacturing
Responsibilities
Support development engineers in creating new products while generating deep scientific understanding
Build standard and custom optical connectors using both existing and newly developed manufacturing processes
Complete mechanical and optical testing to assess product performance
Perform troubleshooting of product and equipment
Collect and analyse numerical data
Create and modify documentation including manufacturing instructions
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2-years experience as a Technician in a Laboratory Setting building/testing products
Strong hands-on aptitude
3D CAD modeling experience
Experience with mechanical test equipment, microscopes and other measurement devices
Works well in a team environment, is a 'self-starter' and 'results oriented' that functions well in ambiguous situations
Uses basic software platforms such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Preferred
Fiber Optic Technician with at least 2-years experience building optical products
Associates degree in engineering preferred
Familiar with safe lab practices
Experience using or designing 3D printed components
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex findings, insights, and recommendations to diverse audiences across all levels of the organization, fostering collaboration and informed decision-making
