Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is offering an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. The intern will train as a Hull - Master Tradesperson, learning the basics and principles of the role while working closely with a mentor and senior leadership on meaningful projects.

Responsibilities

Train as a Hull - Master Tradesperson within HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII Supervisor, with the goal of learning Master Tradesperson basics and principles

Be assigned special projects as needed

Develop skills needed to be presented with a problem, design solutions, fabricate the solutions, test the product, and make alterations based on feedback

Develop a good understanding of the tradesperson equipment, including operation, configuration, and maintenance of Hull equipment, fabrication and testing of AFFF systems, Water Tight / Air Tight Doors, Hatches and scuttles, troubleshooting, and training sailors on how to repair damage control closures, valve and pump repair and overhaul, and customer interaction
