HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding is the largest industrial employer in Virginia and is seeking an Engineering Tech Skillbridge Intern to support their facilities in various engineering teams. The intern will provide technical support on control engineering systems, troubleshoot control systems, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver robust capabilities.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering technical support on control engineering systems

Create, modify, maintain, repair and troubleshoot yard wide control systems software associated with equipment, complex machinery, utility infrastructure, building operating systems, Audio Video systems and submarine delivery/transportation systems

Convert requirements into a functional user interface and control code

Troubleshoot control systems and provide technical control solutions

Produce engineering documentation, technical reports, drawings (sketches, drawings, diagrams and schematics) and perform mathematical calculations using established formats, formulas and configuration guidelines

Read and produce electrical / controls schematics

Collaborate with key stakeholders to meet unique requirements and work with hardware and software systems and platforms
