Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is offering an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. The intern will train as a Mechanical Master Tradesperson, gaining real-world experience and learning the basics and principles of the role while working closely with a mentor and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership

Be able to develop skills needed to be presented with a problem, design solutions, fabricate the solutions, test the product, and make alterations based on feedback

Develop a good understanding of the tradesperson equipment, including operation, configuration, and maintenance of equipment

Repair capabilities with Auxiliary Equipment including Solid Waste, Processing Equipment, High and Low Pressure Air Compressors, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, JP-5 Service Pumps and Purifiers, Steam Water Heaters, Condenser Cleaning, Valve repair, maintenance and hydro-testing, Manufacturing Gaskets

Read and use Manufactures Technical Manuals, Drawings and PMS Cards

Maintain Quality Control IAW the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual

Maintain and establish safe work practices including all required Tag Outs

Learn to schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management of work progress
